I used a Douglas battery in mine. Here is the trick. There is a Douglas distributor in town, so I went to their warehouse with the battery that was dead (it was a Yuassa). They cross refferenced it with their book, and found one that was the EXACT battery that I needed, well, almost. The battery that they had that matched the cranking amps, etc., had the positive and negative terminals on the opposite sides from the one that I had. No problem. I just moved the wires around a little and it worked.

All you have to do is take the battery to a shop near you (I bet Auto Zone or Walmart would have one) and check the boxes to cross ref. the specs on it. Most likely the terminals will be on the opposite sides, like mine were (Suzuki likes to do things back-asswards from everybody else). Oh yeah, the Douglas battery only cost me $25, I was prepared to spend at least $60, so I bought two of them. They were both dry, so I only filled one up with acid. That was over a year ago. The dry one is still charged and ready to go whenever I might need it. The same thing happened with Stef's Savage. I took her battery there and walked away with the same deal--they had a battery, but the terminals were opposite. No biggie!
